A great place to start! Doreen Virtue introduces you to the angels and gives many examples of how they can assist you in various areas of your life. Check out the guide in the back of the book that outlines numerical sequences and the messages angels are communicating through numbers. This was the book that started my journey.
Hiring the Heavens, by Jean Slatter
This book is so quick to read and makes connecting to angels so simple. I recommend this book to anyone especially beginners.
Divine Guidance, by Doreen Virtue, Ph.D.
A detailed, step-by-step book to help you open your psychic abilities and communicate with God, your angels, and spirit guides. Lots of great exercises!
Chakra Clearing, by Doreen Virtue, Ph.D.
A little book packed with invaluable information and meditations for clearing and balancing your chakras. You can also get the book with the CD, which includes Doreen’s phenomenal chakra clearing meditations.

This is a very quick read and is Sonia’s journey to becoming a psychic. I found it fascinating.

Another indispensable reference guide that details the role of animal totems and nature in our spiritual quest. Provides detailed descriptions of numerous animal totems.

Oracle Cards
I use and love all of the following decks by Doreen Virtue. The decks work well individually or together. I find that I am guided to use one deck or the other but they can be combined in one big bowl for readings.
Remember, all of the decks are meant to be used intuitively. There really are no right or wrong ways to use these cards. Just center yourself and call on your angels. You can’t make a mistake! Often times you will see that you receive messages far beyond what the card says but the card helps you connect quickly. They are also great to confirm messages that you have received as well.
Messages From Your Angels
This was my very first deck of cards and people love these cards because they are very specific and accurate. There is a brief message printed on the card, which is helpful in understanding the meaning before looking in the booklet.
Daily Guidance From Your Angels
I have this deck in my bathroom in a bowl and I pick a card each morning. These cards are good for “what do the angels want me to know today?”
Magical Mermaids and Dolphins
This incredible deck’s guidance is related to manifesting and how you can best make your dreams come true. It’s always right on and I have to say I love these cards because the answers are very simple…these are great to combine with the other decks.
Healing With The Angels
The artwork and the messages are “ heavenly” in this deck and great for guidance on your spiritual path. These cards have a tendency to fly out of the deck to make a point or just repeat themselves until you finally “get it.”
Messages from The Fairies
The fairies are fun and playful and so are these cards. I always find these cards love to come with me when I’m traveling. The guidance is a little more “grounded” than the Healing With The Angels deck and will help you with many practical earthly concerns. My daughter loves these cards.
Archangel
I love this deck. I use it often during readings as it always confirms what I have just channeled for someone. It is great to work with this deck and learn about each of the amazing Archangels.
